Middle Eastern Music and Dance in the Twin Cities
Minneapolis is home to thriving Middle Eastern music and dance communities.
The Middle East comprises several ethnic groups, such as Arabs (the largest group), Turks, Persians, and smaller groups.
Arab music is that of the Arabic speaking populations. Jihad Racy at UCLA draws this distinction: the word "Arabic"
refers to the language, and not the music. Some teachers adhere to this distinction and others do not.
